ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT

EXPANSION OF PRESCOTT’S WATER AND WASTEWATER SYSTEMS

In 2021, the Town of Prescott and the Township of Augusta jointly completed a Lands Needs Study. The results of this study identified a mutual benefit for the extension of municipal water and wastewater services from Prescott into Augusta. The municipalities will study and then identify the infrastructure requirements to undertake the solution, as identified in the Land Needs Study.

The project is being planned following the Schedule C process in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment 2003.

Public, Indigenous community and stakeholder input and comment are invited, for incorporation into the planning and design of this project and will be received until May 15, 2024. Subject to the identification of a preferred plan to expand the water and wastewater systems, and the receipt of the necessary approvals, the municipalities intends to proceed with this project in the next ten years.

Prescott Cemetery Board of Management

The Prescott Cemetery Board of Management was established by the Council of the Town of Prescott to manage the Prescott Cemetery on behalf of the churches of Prescott and to operate the Prescott Cemetery in accordance with the rules and regulations of the 2012 By-Laws, which may be amended, revised or superseded from time to time in accordance with the provisions of the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act and applicable regulations as approved by the Ministry of Consumer and Business Services.

The Prescott Cemetery Board of Management is composed of a minimum of three members, who are appointed by the Council of the Town of Prescott.

The Prescott Cemetery Board of Management meets twice annually and holds an annual general meeting early in the year at which the annual report is adopted and prices are established for the year.
