PURPOSE OF THE APPLICATION: The purpose of this Zoning By-Law Amendment Application (ZBA-2026-001) is to propose residential uses for the anticipation of creating residential lots within the former school opened space while repurposing the former school buildings as a wellness center which will provide services to the residents of the town of Prescott.
The applicant proposes to create a total of 7 new residential lots (3 lots on Jessup Street, 1 lot on West Street and 3 lots on Hyde Street. The former school building will be repurposed as a wellness center which will provide a number of personal services which includes but not limited to self-care, health and wellness programs and services, registered massage and therapy, community support services, recreational programs, fitness, arts and educational classes, hair salon and personal care services, sports camps, daycares and sports training and physiotherapy.
The proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment to the Town of Prescott, Zoning By-Law Number 092009, will rezone portion of the former school and parking area to a Site Specific Core
Commercial ‘CC-7’ Zone to identify the wellness center and list of associated uses and rezone the open space to a Medium Density Residential ‘R2’ zone for the anticipation of the creation of new residential lots and its development.
