Arrival Process & Use of Facilities
Swimmers should arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to their scheduled swim time. Masks are required when inside the pool facility, except when using showers. Swimmers should maintain physical distancing and practice good hand hygiene. We encourage swimmers to shower at home before arriving at the pool, showers on the pool deck will be available for use, but the showers in the change room will not be available for use. Upon arrival, swimmers will check in for Covid-19 screening and contact tracing information will be confirmed. They will then proceed to the change room. Swimmers are encouraged to use the washrooms at that time if needed and then must take their belongings to the pool deck with them. After their program, swimmers will exit via the gate on the pool deck.

 Equipment
A limited number of PFDs are available to borrow for those who do not have their own. We will not be loaning goggles or water toys this season.
Public Swim, Fitness Swim, Lane Swim and Aquafit

To participate in a public, family or adult/lane session, swimmers must register in advance for swim programming. Registration will be open at 9am, 7 days in advance of the program start date. All participants must be registered individually, including children and babies. Not sure how to register? Visit the link below and you'll find step-by-step instructions (written and video!) to help you. Visit: https://eo.ymca.ca/onlineregistration

We ask that you call (613) 925-0762 to cancel if your plans change to allow the spot to be given to someone else. Swimmers who do not reserve risk being turned away at the door if the session is full.

 Thunderstorms, Rain and Other Interruptions
In the event of a clap of thunder or lightning there are no lessons for 30 minutes after the last clap of thunder and 30 minutes after lightning. In the event of a thunderstorm, you are welcome to call the pool to ask about the situation. In the event of pouring rain, the pool will be closed if we are unable to see the bottom of the pool. We are unable to make up group lessons missed due to thunderstorms, mechanical problems or necessary maintenance procedures (such as for pool fouling).
Program-Specific Information - Important Information Regarding Young Swimmers
Due to physical distancing requirements, no physical manipulation will be completed by swim instructors, they will be teaching from on deck. Otter/Seal level swimmers and children 6 years older or younger all require a guardian/family member to enter the pool with the participant for each lesson (including group and private lessons).
 Aquafit/Fitness Swim
This season we will be offering both Aquafit and Fitness Swim sessions: Aquafit Program- An instructed fitness class with participants completing their workout in the pool. There is no charge for Aquafit.

Fitness Swim - A time for those looking for a quieter environment to focus on exercises in the pool. There is no charge for Fitness Swim.

 Piranha's Swim Team

This year, the Piranha’s Swim Team will focus on skill building. There will be no regional swim meets this season. Due to reduced capacities, the training schedule will be split between smaller groups attending twice per week. Please take note of the schedule you are registering for. The groups (A & B) are attending 5 days a week with 45 minute practices as listed the pool schedule.

Swim Team A: Swimmers aged 6 to 10, having completed Seal level (or equivalent) and able to swim at least two lengths of the pool (any stroke) are welcome.

Swim Team B: Swimmers aged 11-16, having completed Seal level (or equivalent) and able to swim at least two lengths of the pool (any stroke) are welcome.
