The Prescott Public Library was formed in 1895 and continues to provide services to the residents of the Town of Prescott. We offer traditional library services, programs, special events and community services. With support from the Town and our many volunteers, we have been able to maintain and upgrade our building to keep it vibrant and inviting to all.

Services at the library include:

  • 10 computers with internet access and word processing
  • Adaptive Technology Software and Tools 
  • scanner
  • Printer ($0.25 per black and white copy, $0.50 colour, $1.00 full page of colour)
  • Photocopier ($0.25 per copy) colour copying is also available for $0.50 per copy; $1.00 for full page copying
  • Fax Prices: local and local long distance (613 Area Code) $1.00 first page, $0.50 each additional page; longer distance ( outside 613 area code) $2.00 first page, $1.00 each additional page.


These services are free to residents of Prescott. Non-residents pay a yearly membership fee of $30.00 per family, $22.50 per single membership, and $15.00 per student.

Do you have an E-Reader that you would like to download books onto? Are you taking a trip or enjoy listening to audio books? Overdrive Download Centre gives you access to E-books. To login click sign in, all you need is your Library Card number (not the barcode) the number begins with a 0 and is 6 digits total.


The Prescott Library also offers FREE Family Museum Passes. Visit the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum, Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, Canada Science and Technology Museum, Ottawa Museum Network, National Gallery of Canada and the Canadian Museum of Nature. Coming Monday September 12, 2016: Canadian Museum of History and Canadian War Museum.

The Prescott Public Library is announcing a partnership with, a company dedicated to driver safety and education, to offer free G1 practice tests to library patrons. The new service includes free tests, written specifically based on the official ON driver's handbook materials. This partnership allows the Prescott Public Library to harness the power of's specialized practice exams to turn new drivers into safer drivers.
