Information Update Regarding COVID-19 Pandemic

(Prescott) The Municipal Emergency Control Group (MECG) met virtually today to review and discuss increasing municipal service supports for residents and visitors to enjoy recreation and leisure pastimes, while respecting public health precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Prescott Scuba Park and the accessible family washroom in Prescott Centennial Park are now open for public use. The Centennial Park washroom will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Weekly water quality sampling by the Leeds, Grenville & Lanark Health Unit began this week at Kelly’s Beach. A reminder to guests using these spaces to use provided waste receptacles, please take all garbage home with you if you are able, and that public washroom facilities are not intended for changeroom use.

Dr. Paula Stewart, Medical Officer of Health for the Leeds, Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit reminded the MECG today that although the Province of Ontario is relaxing some restrictions, the threat of coronavirus remains. As of June 25, 2020, there have been a total of 352 lab-confirmed cases and 52 deaths in Leeds, Grenville and Lanark due to coronavirus.
