Town of Prescott Hires Economic Development Officer

(PRESCOTT) The Town of Prescott is pleased to announce the hiring of Dana Valentyne as Economic Development Officer.

Ms. Valentyne has over eleven years’ experience in similar roles at the municipal government level, with her most recent positions being at the City of Quinte West as the Supervisor of Tourism & Events, and at the Town of Deseronto as Economic Development Officer.

“I’m very happy to welcome Dana to our team here at town hall,” said Mayor Brett Todd. “As part of the hiring committee, I’ve already been impressed with her professionalism and wealth of experience that touches on a number of key areas that will be important here in Prescott. In conjunction with our regional municipal partners in the St. Lawrence Corridor Economic Development Commission, Dana will be doing all she can to promote our focus on bringing new investment and new jobs to the Fort Town.”

“I’m extremely excited to serve as Economic Development Officer for such a historic and progressive community, particularly the opportunity to provide leadership in economic development and build effective stakeholder relationships to contribute towards realizing Prescott’s diverse opportunities for development,” said Ms. Valentyne. “I look forward to working with local and regional businesses, developers and economic development associations to achieve local and regional prosperity.”

In Ms. Valentyne’s new role, which begins on July 23, 2018, she will be responsible for leading activities and initiatives that will attract investment and business opportunities to the Town of Prescott and will actively support business retention and expansion (BR&E) activities that will maintain and increase local employment in the region.
